Subject:                                         8-13-26 THOUGHTS

 

God's Word performs its work in us!  It accomplishes what God desires...  The descriptions below are most enlightening.  No wonder Paul said  "For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek."   Rom 1:16  

1Thes 2:13    For this reason we also constantly thank God that when you received the word of God which you heard from us, you accepted [it] not [as] the word of men, but [for] what it really is, the word of God, which also performs its work in you who believe.
Isa 55:11   So will My word be which goes forth from My mouth; It will not return to Me empty, Without accomplishing what I desire, And without succeeding [in the matter] for which I sent it.
Heb 4:12a    For the word of God is living and active....
Luke 8:11   "Now the parable is this: the seed is the word of God.
Ps 119:130    The unfolding of Your words give light; It gives understanding to the simple.
1Pet 1:23   for you have been born again not of seed which is perishable but imperishable, [that is,] through the living and enduring word of God.

Our Prayer:
O Lord, may Your word do its work in our lives.  May it enliven us to be pleasing children belonging to You.  May it be seed in our hearts to be seed sown in our world.  Help it to be light to us as we become light to others.  Help us to lift up Jesus to Your glory.  In His name,   Amen.
